Travel Accessory Must-Haves

Shoe bags

Being on the road, while fun and exhilarating, can also be tough. Your clothes are dirty (you’re dirty), getting stuck with noisy dorm mates, overnight buses and the list goes on. There’s not a whole lot that can be done in these situations. However, there are a few things you can make sure to throw into your travel pack before you leave that will make your trip much more comfortable and pleasant.

Earplugs

These are always the first little items I make sure not to leave home. Some people are okay with just sticking their earphones in and playing some music to cancel out the noise. But for me, I like to buy little foam plugs that work well and are also cheap so that I won’t care if they are stolen or misplaced. These ones are noise cancelling too which is an absolute bonus!

Eye Mask

I am never able to sleep when it’s light out. On the road though it’s important to grab any bit of shut eye whenever you can so that you’re always ready to enjoy a night out in your newest city or be ready for your big outing the next day. Eye masks are also key in the dorms when people can be stumbling in at all hours after a night out or arriving after a late flight. This is the TOP rated, top selling eye mask on Amazon.

Melatonin

This won’t completely knock you out like a sleeping pill so that you wake up groggy the next day. Melatonin simply relaxes you and makes it easier to sleep which can be helpful in a noisy hostel where the temptation to socialize is always there.

Packing Cubes

What a lifesaver these babies are. It’s hard enough to stay organized in one tiny little pack but these make it easier. Packing cubes allow you to divide all your clothing up into separate compartments, which also makes it easier to find whatever you’re looking for.

Waterproof Backpack Covers

Ever get caught in the rain unexpectedly? Probably! It’s even worse if you’ve got all of your belongings strapped to your back. Buy a backpack cover and save yourself a big mess!

Shoe Bags

I never thought I needed these and then learned how lovely they are. You’re already a bit less clean than usual while on the road. Keeping your shoes in separate zippered bags prevents your clothes from smelling like the sneakers you walked around in all day exploring that cool city in Central Europe. You’ll be happy to have these.

Luggage Scales

These are tiny little lifesavers. Yes, it’s possible to wait till you’re at the airport but finding out that your bag is too big once you’re already there is stressful as you’re holding up the line trying to make a last minute decision of what to leave behind. Weighing your pack beforehand will keep you calm and collected.

Toiletry Bags

I’m not sure if there’s anyone out there who hasn’t had a lotion or shampoo bottle explode due to the changing pressure on an airplane or the lid simply coming open. Toiletry bags are easy to clean when these little messes happen and this way, you’re guaranteed that the mess stays confined into one area and not all over the limited amount of clothing you’ve got with you.

Using these travel accessories will make your life that much easier on the road. There’s no reason to stress about the little things when you’re way too busy making lifetime memories.
